My Journey to solve the weight mystery The Brain and the Stomach, who always wins? Diet is a four letter word Economics of Healthy
The Brain and the Stomach, who always wins?
Going through my process I am convinced that stomach by-pass surgery should be outlawed.
Does a Nascar Crew Chief order his crew to take out the 20 gallon gas tank
and put in a 5 gallon tank before a race?
Does a Semi Truck driver reduce his tank by 80% before heading cross
country?
The body still has the weight, mass, blood, organs, and bones. That body
still requires fuel to operate, the muscles and brain still need nutrients, and
you cut that body open reduced the stomach to the size of an egg, sewed it back
up and said, "Good Luck".
I wonder how often that operation would be offered if the Surgeon was not paid
for that until a year later IF the patient is considered a success????
The whole concept of eat less and move more is the biggest lie ever pulled over mankind's eyes. It is cruel to make a whole generation of youth feel guilty and ashamed of the way they look. When in essence, their bodies are the ones that are working the way they should. Their brains pulled tricks and made excuses every time they looked in a mirror or caught their reflection, in reaction to the visual shock, otherwise a whole panic and anxiety downspin takes place. So, their brains are doing their job to the best of its ability.
Their bodies? Well, ......... the body is designed to store fat when it perceives a shortage in nutritional feed to the system. It knows it's getting something, but it doesn't really recognize it as food. So it rummages through the artificial flavorings, colorings, fillers, and chemicals and takes whatever it can to use to fuel the blood, muscles and organs (including the brain) throws out the rest and still remains in "starvation mode" waiting for nutrients. So, their bodies are working as well.
So, what's the problem? Why is everyone so fat? Look around, everyone is fat.
It
seems your body and mind are always at odds and always lying to each other.
When someone gets a new treadmill they start out nice and easy but at
some point the body tells the mind how good the exercise feels and then the mind
decides to go a little too long, the next day the pulled muscles send the mind a
whole new message about how exercise feels.
Then
there are the foods that trigger the addictive parts of the brain and start the
“rush – crash – craving” cycle, talk about tricking the brain over the
body.
Avoiding
those bad foods was easy, my mind seeing the weight fall off was hard.
I had spent a long time “defining” my fat body in my mind, all of the
sudden a new body was appearing in the mirror and my mind was not ready for it.
I wasn’t starving, I wasn’t sick, so my mind couldn’t grasp it.
Looking at myself in the mirror realizing that I had to buy new clothes, I was
reminded of the old classic movie, "The Incredible Shrinking Man".
From Extra Large shirts to Mediums. From tight 38 pants to lose 30's.
A heck of a lot of fat loss for hardly trying. Your mind says things like,
"you're not the big guy anymore" or “you’re losing your
security blanket”, and you have to tell yourself it wasn’t
"security", it was blubber.
It’s
not “padding”, its blubber.
Love
handles do not "love" you. or help you get love.
They want to kill you twenty years before your time.
Donuts
“do-not” make you sexy.
If
every time you wanted a soda you drove to the gas station and put a gallon of
diesel in your gas tank, very soon you would ruin your engine.
The engine is made of metal, has no soul, and is worth about $5,000.
You wouldn’t let someone cut off your little pinky finger for $5000.
What is a year of your life worth? Medical,
Hospital, Medicine, Stress, Depression, Your loved ones.
Excuses:
You're too busy, heredity, too expensive, whatever excuse you have for holding
on to soda pop, ice cream, pizza and donuts, drop them, drop them, drop them.
If you dropped soda pop you would lose about 20lbs in less than 1 week.
If you dropped the junk food you would ELIMINATE gas, heartburn,
constipation in about 48 to 72 hours. Your
skin would clear up in a week.
